4 MONTHS

Parker turned 4 months old on Sunday! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by! He rolled over for the 1st time on his 4 month birthday...that was so fun to see & we actually got it on camera! I was videotaping JUST in case he decided to roll over! Well...along with your 4 month birthday, you get 4 nasty shots in your legs & one oral one(but he liked that one). Parker was ALL SMILES at the Pediatrician's office...UNTIL they poked him & then he showed off his lungs to the entire doctor's office! Poor kid! (Although, I really think that shots are harder on me than they are on him!) Parker got a 101.5 degree fever after these shots, but just needed...

...a little Lovin' from Daddy...

...(& some Tylenol)...and then EVERYTHING was okay...

MEASUREMENTS:
Weight: 14 lbs 12 oz - 50% percentile
Head: 16 1/2 inches - 50% percentile
Height: 25 3/4 inches - 75% percentile (YEAHHHH! We are hoping he isn't going to be short!)

Parker's 1st Swim

We took Parker SWIMMING for the 1st time on Saturday night. Well-actually, we just dipped his feet in & he let us know that it was TOO COLD! He got "THE LIP" and if you haven't seen his lip, then you will have to check it out on our Video Blog. It is the cutest/saddest thing I've ever seen! He started crying & then as soon as Matt took his feet out of the water, he was fine:) I guess we will have to wait until the water gets a little warmer, before we try again! Oh well...at least he looked SO cute in his swimsuit!

My Favorite Things...

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, Brown paper packages tied up with strings...These are a few of my favorite things..."

Tag...I'm it! Courtney tagged me to list my 7 Favorite things...so here I go...

1. My #1 favorite thing is MY BOYS!!! Marrying Matt was the best decision I ever made & he continues to prove that by making me happier and happier each and every day! And Parker...well, just look at him...he makes me SOOOOO happy! I absolutely LOVE being a mom!

2. I love watching movies! I like the whole movie/popcorn combo & yes, I can eat an entire bag of popcorn myself(I know...disgusting) I TIVO the Saturday afternoon movies every week & Matt thinks I am so weird, because I don't even care if I've ever heard of it or if I've seen it 20 times...I just record it so I can watch it later in the week(gives me something to watch while I feed Parker)!

3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the feeling when you walk outside into this HOT Arizona heat & it blankets over you...immediately after I have been in a restaurant or church or some other FREEZING place. (Again...Matt thinks this is weird!) But I LOVE the feeling!(only for about 3 minutes & then I am just HOT!)

4. I Love social scenes, I am always up for a party! I have the most WONDERFUL friends & I am always up for a good time!

5. I love to sew! And thanks to my WONDERFUL mother, I can do it whenever I want now(she bought me a sewing machine for my last b-day).

6. I LOVE spending time with Mine & Matt's family...no joke...the 2 best families in the world! Lucky me!!!

7. I am a complete sucker for ICECREAM! I just NEED my icecream fix in order to live a productive, happy life!:)

Mesa High Graduation!!!

We went to Mesa High's Graduation lastnight & we had such a good time. Parker did SO GOOD...I was worried that he would get ancy sitting in those stands for so long, but I was the one who got ancy! He was so busy looking around & listening to all the applause---he was so happy:) Matt's sister Whitney graduated...CONGRATULATIONS!!! And my "brother" Brian Roberts also graduated(he is my sister-in-laws brother, who lives with my parents)...CONGRATULATIONS!!! Whitney got a full-ride scholarship to ASU and plans to start there in the fall & continue working at Bank of America. Brian plans to work full-time for the next year as a school aide at Lincoln Elementary & will leave on a mission next April. I am SO happy for both of them & it was so fun to be there to see them graduate! I wish them both the best in their future! They are amazing & their talents will take them so far in life!

A Shout Out to My Mom & Dad

So...yesterday my parents celebrated their anniversary, I should know exactly what year but I do know it is more than 30 and less than 35 and they are absolutely amazing! The PERFECT example of where I want my marriage to be 30 years from now! I want to blog about them for a minute, because they are absolutely the most incredible parents in the world! Yesterday...to celebrate their anniversary, my mom worked all day to clean her house and make yummy goodies for my cousin's bridal shower that was at her house. My mom was happy to be the hostess, but knew she couldn't even be there for the shower when they asked if they could have it at her house. You see...Seminary graduation was lastnight and she needed to be there to support Brian Roberts(my sister-in-laws brother that has been living with my parents for the past couple years) as he graduated Seminary! {Sidenote: When Brian came to live with our family, he was 2+ years behind in Seminary and my mom told him that he was going to graduate with a 4 year degree and pushed him to make up EVERY SINGLE DAY that he had missed the previous 2 years---he had to do a worksheet for every day he missed & because of my mom...he did it!} My parents are ALWAYS putting everyone else 1st! They live lives of selfless service! That is why they are my heroes!:)

TEN REASONS WHY MY PARENTS ARE SO INCREDIBLE:

1) They had to raise me & didn't give up on me(even through my teenage years!)

2) My mom is the most amazing cook in the entire world...Nobody even compares!

3) My dad continues to take care of our 1 acre lot -yard, just because he knows my mom loves living there (when deep inside, he would love to move into a small home with NO yard to take care of!)

4) Every single day of their lives, they put eachother 1st! Always thinking of others & the best interest of their 7 kids & their spouses, friends, church members, neighbors & everyone else!

5) I can honestly say I have NEVER seen my parents fight, not even argue...not even once!

6) My dad works SO hard each week to provide for his family as the BEST Director that the Mesa Convention & Visitors Bureau has EVER seen!

7) I love my dad's passion for old cowboy comedies & my mom's inability to sit still long enough to watch a movie!

8) My mom cooks dinner EVERY Sunday for a complete army(At least 25 people each week) & my dad is always found in the kitchen washing all the dishes later that night!)

9) I watched my parents serve their parents night and day...up until the minute each one of them passed away. (This was the greatest example to me of service as I grew up). Now they CONTINUE to serve their stepmom's Each and Every day & will continue to do so as long as they are alive! We LOVE Granny & Grandma Nancy!

10) Because....they center their lives around Christ, live the Gospel to its fullest, have the strongest testimonies and...they LOVE EACHOTHER!!!

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9...

TEN!!! Parker ate & fell asleep @ 9:30pm lastnight & didn't eat again until 7:30am!!! Yeah for a 10 hour stretch without eating!!! May not sound too impressive for all of you with kids who sleep for 12 hours, but 10 hrs is a great step for us! And he ate at 7:30 and went right back to sleep until 9:30am...and woke up SO happy!:) He has been consistently eating about 9pm and sleeping til 9am, but waking once to eat about 5:30am, which is really pretty good. I decided lastnight that it was ME who was quick to feed him, because I was so FULL & thought that he probably could go longer! So...I didn't feed him at 5:30am and he was fine! I am going to try and push 1/2 hr each night this week and see if we can get it up to a full 12 hours. GREAT JOB PARKER!!! (yes...taking this picture is probably what woke him up at 9:30am this morning...but I figured he'd been asleep12 hours & that was long enough) Besides he woke up with a smile, so he must have had enough sleep! Also...you may think I am trying to suffocate my child with all those blankets, but Parker has to have a blanket on EACH side of his face in order to sleep!

So Sad 4 Our Suns

Well...as you all know, the Suns lost to the Spurs last night & I don't know if it was as tramatic for all of you, but we were SO SAD that they are out of the playoffs. I really thought this was their year to go ALL THE WAY! Unfortunately, we had to play against 8 players...5 Spurs & 3 refs & well...when you are playing 5 against 8, the odds just aren't great! Just want to say GREAT JOB ON A WONDERFUL SEASON to the Suns!!! We just LOVE watching them play & who knows...maybe next year will be their year to go ALL THE WAY!?!

Not quite tall enough...

I've been wanting to get Parker a walker for awhile now, because I figure it would give him something to do while I'm making dinner(haha...like that ever happens). Anyways...I thought he would enjoy it, because he likes to stand up & he is good at holding his head up now. Well, he seemed to really enjoy the cute Winnie the Pooh toys on it...but there is just one problem...

...his feet don't touch the floor yet! I put it on the lowest adjustment, but he is still a few inches away! I hope that means he is just too young for a walker, and not that he is a shorty!

Baby Sister's B-day

I can't believe my BABY sister is 15!!! My little sister Heidi is so AMAZING! She's beautiful, talented, a good friend to everyone & so much fun to be around! Since I am smack dab in the middle of my 4 brothers...the girls are spaced pretty far apart. That is probably a good thing, otherwise we would have fought while growing up:) I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her, I can't believe she can start dating next year! Some guy is going to be so LUCKY someday to have her as their wife! We all got together for her birthday lastnight & ate pizza & cake while we watched the SUNS game-it was SO much fun!:)

Heidi & Parker sporting their "Nash Fan" nose bandaids (my cousin works for KTAR & brought them over for the game). Heidi is the REAL REASON the Suns won lastnight! Her birthday wish before she blew out her candles was that the SUNS WOULD WIN! Don't worry, she didn't tell us that was her wish until after they won...because you know if you say your wish out loud...it won't come true! So..Thank you Heidi & Happy Birthday!!! I love you!

Matt's Birthday / Mother's Day

Matt's birthday fell on Mother's Day this year, so he had to share the attention with me :) He woke up early & took care of Parker while I slept in & then made me my FAVORITE breakfast... oven pancakes! Matt's brother Tanner called from Ecquador to tell him HaPpY bIrThDaY!!! (He actually called for Mother's Day, but it was still fun that Matt was able to talk to him on his b-day!) We went to Matt's family's house for dinner & they went all-out & cooked up some Delicious steaks! After dinner & cake, we went to my family's house to finish celebrating Matt's birthday/Mother's Day! The nephews were so excited to help Matt blow out his candles! It was such a GREAT day & so much fun to celebrate together!!!

I will also use this post to thank a few WONDERFUL mothers in this world!!! My mom is the most amazing person in the world! I look up to her more than anyone! I have never met another person with as big of a heart as hers! She is ALWAYS serving others! Each day, she continues to amaze me more! When I think she can't give any more...she finds a way and keeps on giving! What a wonderful example she has been in my life! I don't know HOW she raised 7 children & I owe her my life for sticking with me through my teenage years! She is also the most incredible cook & whips up delicious recipes on a daily basis! I look up to the relationship she has with my dad and for all she does for her children! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be her child, because I KNOW she is the best mom in the world!!!
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

I'm so Grateful for Matt's mom and the wonderful grandma she is to Parker! She does so much for her family and has done an amazing job raising her 5 children! ...and she did an ESPECIALLY good job raising Matt! THANK YOU!!! I'm so thankful for such a wonderful mother-in-law, I really lucked out! She has the kindest heart and is always concerned about those around her. I love watching her enjoy her 2 new grandkids & am grateful for the spirit that is always in their home! Thank you for everything you do - I love you!

Polka Dot Blankie

Well...all of Parker's blankets were getting to be TOO HOT for him in this Arizona Heat, so I decided to TRY & make a lightweight blanket for him! I went to JoAnns & found this cute polka-dot fabric & found a cute yellow for the back...I was proud of my choices, but when I showed the material to Matt...he informed me that I had chosen "girl" fabric. Oh well...I still think Parker looks so cute in Polka Dots:) The blanket turned out okay, EXCEPT I forgot to pre-shrink the fabric, so after I washed it, one side shrunk more than the other side...since they were different fabrics! Oh well, now that I made this one, I will be more brave to make more(and maybe on my next try, I can find some boy fabric!)

Nash Fans

Just hanging out at my parents house, watching the Suns play the Spurs. My mom got these 2 cute little recliners for the grandkids & Parker sat in one, while watching the game with dad:) Have you ever seen a cuter Suns fan?

TGIW...

THANK GOODNESS IT'S WEDNESDAY!!!

I'm doing a SuMmEr PlAyGrOuP with my sister-in-law, every WeDnEsDaY this summer from 9:00am-12:00pm!

This will give moms a chance to get things done around the house, go to the temple, go grocery shopping or even take a nap! Let me know if you know anyone that might be interested in signing up & I can send more info! We are doing Drop-In style, so you can call as late as the day of & see if we have any room that day. BUT…we are only taking 10 kids, so if you want to reserve a spot-let us know soon! It will be at my sis-in-laws house on Power & Brown. Just $15 for a 3 hour break!

Nursery Pics

Just for Melissa... You wanted to see pictures of Parker's nursery. Here's a few for you...

We knew we were going to do brown, tan & white before we ever found out if it was a boy or girl & then we decided we would add PINK or BLUE depending on whether it was a boy or girl! We had it all painted before I was even pregnant...which took a lot of stress off of me getting it decorated! Matt picked the color for the walls & I think he did a SUPERB job! I picked the color 1st & picked a color that would be found somewhere in between tan & brown, which ended up looking like we painted our walls the color of RUST! I didn't love it, but I wasn't going to complain, since we painted the whole room! (Matt could tell I didn't like it)The next day, I came home from work & Matt had the room painted this color! I LOVED it SOOOO much better than the color I chose & should have let him pick out the color in the 1st place!!!

Girls Night Out

Last weekend, Matt & his brother Craig went on Fathers & Sons with their dad, so Heidi had the great idea to go out to dinner! We went to Costa Vida & Whitney & Aimee(Matt's sisters) even came with us! We went to my parents afterwards, so that Talia & Parker could play together & we took a bunch of cute pictures of them! :)

SUNS fanatics!

It's playoff time! For those of you who don't know...I honestly believe Matt is the Phoenix Suns #1 Fan!:) I'm sure he's hoping to get tickets again for this birthday...so convenient that his birthday falls in the middle of playoff season! And he has already pulled Parker into the world of basketball. Most of you probably know that he really wanted Parker's middle name to be Nash, but I convinced him of Matthew. We are so excited for the playoffs! My brother sets up a HUGE screen with a projector outside at my parent's for all the playoff games...so feel free to drop by to watch any of the games!
