Update on my Dad

My dad is wishing he could order a NEW BODY at the closest Fast Food Drive Thru...

As I posted in a previous post, my dad went in for hip surgery & things just haven't gone the right way since then!

He was supposed to be home a week ago, but instead was transferred to ICU a couple days post surgery to run some tests...

they found blood clots in his legs & lungs, so they had to postpone therapy & he could not MOVE for a few days until they got the blood clots under control.

Since then, he has had a few more hiccups...

the latest of those hiccups...

they found bacteria in his blood yesterday{an infection from his incision opening}

Result...antibiotics for 6 weeks through IV & NOT going home this weekend.

We REALLY want him to be able to improve & come HOME SOON!

Please keep him in your prayers!

THANKS!:)

Youth Conference

I was able to attend Youth Conference this year with the 14-18 year old girls from our ward & we had so much fun!

We had a LOT of laughs. The girls probably learned way too much about me. I always seem to let loose a little too much on road trips! :)

Our fearless YM leaders working to provide some shade for us!
I missed my 3 boys, but glad I was able to go be up there with the girls!

THANKS to my amazing mom & mother-in-law for watching Parker & Ryler!
I appreciate it SO MUCH!!
And to Matt, for being up with Ryler all night long & going to work exhausted the next day! I was REALLY hoping he would sleep all night long, but of course he had a rough night{I am sure he was just missing his mommy!}

Change a Flat

We taught the girls how to change a flat for mutual this week...

I pretended to be on the "teaching" end of it...but honestly I was being taught, because I have NEVER learned until now! Sad, I know.
But now I can do it!

Owies

My dad went in for hip surgery Tuesday morning.
I was able to take the kids down to see him that afternoon, when he was feeling pretty good, because he was still numb from the surgery. Parker got to see Grandpa's "owie" and hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Tuesday night when we got home, Parker got stung by a SCORPION!!!
After the initial screaming and tears, he wanted a bandaid on his foot and then I stuck a sock on his foot.

He said, "My owie like Grandpa"

He was so cute to relate his little foot to Grandpa's owie:)

Here he is the next day, watching a movie at my parent's house. He was up ALL NIGHT Tuesday crying and would not walk on it and would NOT let us take the sock off. Finally by Wed. afternoon, he started limping on it and was feeling much better by that night!

**Update on my dad***
Yesterday they moved my dad from the Spine & Joint hospital, 3 days after hip surgery, to ICU with some concerns & wanted to take some precautionary tests. They found several blood clots in his legs and a mass of clots in his lungs, which was very scary news for all of us. Fortunately, they have him on medicine that will hopefully shrink the clots & in a few days he will be able to move around again. Right now he has to lay completely still in the hospital bed, so none of the clots dislodge. The doctors are very optimistic and it sounds like within a week he will hopefully be out of the ICU! Other than being uncomfortable from not being able to move in his bed & the pain he has from his hip surgery, he is doing well & we are hoping things will start getting better quickly. Please Please keep him in your prayers!!! Our family is so appreciative of all the support we have received & are grateful for all the prayers out there!

Pinnochio

Parker's nose grew a little yesterday...

I desperately needed a shower yesterday & both kids were awake. Leaving the room for 2 seconds isn't really an option with my 2 boys, so leaving the room for 5 minutes is practically out of the question. BUT, I REALLY needed a shower, so I put a movie on for Parker & he layed down & I put Ryler in the walker in the kitchen, with some blueberries to keep him busy. I hurried into the other room & took a 2 minute shower & hurried out to check on them & I wish you could tell better in this picture, but...

I found the kitchen floor COVERED in water.
A LOT OF WATER!

Parker had somehow managed to fill cups of water and dump them on the floor????

The chair wasn't pushed up to the sink, so I have
no idea how he managed this, but he did.
Ryler was of course, cracking up, encouraging his older
brother to keep entertaining him.
Parker HAD found the broom in an effort to clean
up the water before I found the mess...

Oh...some days I just need a cage for my 2 boys!

I quickly asked Parker, "Did you pour water all over the floor?"
(as if I didn't already know)

He simply answered, "No...baby did it"

and THAT is the day that Parker's nose started to grow.

*this is the first time Parker has tried to LIE to me. He is usually so honest and says "I did it" or "I'm sorry". Not anymore:( He discovered that he can try to blame others. Sad day.

I did it!

I heard Ryler wake up from his nap & went in to find this...

So proud of himself that he figured out how to stand up in his crib when he wakes up:)

Who Needs a Pool...

When you have IRRIGATION !?!

We went over to visit Grandma Allen last week & they just had irrigation! Parker's entire face lit up when Grandma asked if he wanted to go play in it! And not only did she let him play...she got right in there with him & played & splashed & ran around & got soaked...right along with him.
What a FUN GRANDMA!!!
I think Parker will remember this day forever!
He was in little boy heaven!!!

Where's the mom?!

I swear I turned my head for 2 minutes & this kid crawled over to where Parker had been coloring with markers earlier that day(I let him use markers SOMETIMES as long as he stays on the tile) & before I knew it, I saw this innocent little boy covered in BLUE!!!

He was pretty proud of himself as you can see! He not only managed to crawl to where the markers were, but managed to get the cap off of one, get marker all over his hands & face...he also managed to draw on the wall and floor a little bit...and even ATE a corner of Parker's coloring page...all before his MOM decided she better see what he was up to!

Good thing he is SO STINKIN' CUTE...because I have a feeling he is going to keep me BUSY now that he is crawling everywhere!

Wicked

My mom and dad gave us all WICKED tickets for Christmas, so we have been looking forward to this night for a long time!
I thought I might be disappointed, because everyone's reviews seem so wonderful...but it REALLY was AS GOOD AS EVERYONE HAS SAID!!!

THANK YOU MOM & DAD!!!
and THANKS AUNT WHITNEY for watching the boys!!!
It was a much needed date night with my hubby!

Sweet Experience

I will honestly admit that the day that this Laurel came to me and told me she was pregnant was one of the hardest days in my church calling, serving with the Young Women in our ward...

But the day that I was at the hospital with her and she chose to sign the paperwork to place this baby up for adoption, to a WONDERFUL, LOVING family...was one of the best days!!!

I'm so proud of you Kiki!

You have given an amazing family the opportunity to raise your precious little girl & I am excited for you to start your Senior Year in highschool with a fresh start!

I LOVE YOU!!!

I asked my friend Cherri, to come down to the hospital and take pictures of Kiki's sweet little girl & she did an INCREDIBLE job! Thank you Cherri! To see more pics of this sweet baby go HERE

Grandkid fun at the Ranch!

We got back late Sunday night from Girls Camp & decided to take off again to spend a week at the Ranch! We went up last week for a day, when we took Heidi up to EFY & the boys had SO MUCH FUN, that I decided we needed to go again! My parents were going up on Tuesday morning, so we hitched a ride with them & we took my nephew, Mason, up with us too! The weather was GORGEOUS! Even rained a few days on us!

Parker discovered a variety of old hats(probably my Grandpa's) & was usually seen wearing one of them:)

Ryler was all SMILES all week long!!!
Mason & Parker...with yet, another hat on:)
Our family's property has a small pond on it & Parker LOVED throwing rocks into the water!
Grandma took us on a hike while we were there & we all found walking sticks!
AND....Parker is wearing the compass that Mason brought along...just in case we got lost!:)
On Thursday, the rest of the gang came up!!!
Kylie brought her kids, Mia & Powell
Julie & Rob brought up Tanner, Gemma, Emily & her friend Shelby
and Amy brought up Hallie & Abby!
ALL NINE GRANDKIDS AT THE RANCH!!!
This was the first time we were ALL there!
Then on FRIDAY...
Kylie's husband, David
my Brother Jeff
my sister Heidi
and my hubby
all came up, so we had ALMOST everyone in the family!
We were only missing my brothers Matt(work)& Tate(on a mission)!
8 CUTE kids painting ceramic objects at the ranch!
It made QUITE a MESS! :)
We drove down to Spring Vallye while we were there & carved our names in the trees, like we try to do every year!
My CUTE parents standing next to their intitals R.B + N.P. in a heart:)
They have carved a new year in every year since the 70's...but the are kind of wearing away.

I carved a new one for us this year with Parker's & Ryler's intitials & hopefully left room for the 7 kids we still have to come! haha. JK ! Don't have a heart attack Matt!:)

My brother Jeff, hanging out with CUTE Ryler!
Watching a movie with Gemma, before falling asleep:)
We had SO MUCH FUN!!! I kind of wish I could spend EVERY WEEK up at the ranch! The kids are so entertained! If only Matt didn't have to work...cuz I'd miss him too much! I'm glad he was able to come up for Fri-Sat!

Girls Camp 2009

There was a Young Woman in our ward that wasn't able to go to camp this year because of work, so I offered to drive her up Saturday & come home Sunday...so that we would both be able to enjoy a couple days at camp! I even convinced my husband and boys to come along & stay at my cousin's cabin nearby!:) THANK YOU AMY for taking care of them while I spent the majority of my time at camp!!! You are amazing!

We got up there Saturday night...just in time to see our ward's skit!
CUTE, CUTE Railroad Workers! The theme of camp was "Amazing Race: Destination: Eternal Life" and every ward was a Transportation. Our ward chose to be TRAINS & we had a lot of fun with it!!!

My cute Laurels on Sunday!
Brittney-Kinsey-Leisha-Leisha's friend, Brittany-Tiare-Ryann
Granite Reef Ward YW after church on Sunday
It is a neat experience to have church in the middle of the woods up there!

Some CUTE Beehives on the bridge:)
Making bracelets-Our wonderful leader, Alisha Strong, had the AWESOME idea to bring the stuff up to make those! The girls LOVED them!

Sunday night program-
The stake put on an amazing evening, complete with a "trip to the Bahamas"-Here are some of the girls on the airplane...that ended up crashing & they took us through the "afterlife". It was a wonderful experience, followed up by a great Testimony Meeting. I was so HAPPY I was able to be up there for this. Thank you to my wonderful husband who let me spend Father's Day at Girls Camp, I appreciated it SO MUCH!!!
We ended up leaving to head home about 10pm Sunday night....arriving home after midnight!
Here's a picture of my CUTE boys when we arrived home!:)

And I stole this off my friend Kristi's blog, because it was so stinkin' CUTE & summed up GIRLS CAMP!!!

Ryler-7 Months

Ryler is 7 months & continues to grow like a weed!!!
We love our Chunky Monkey!

He started to attempt to crawl this month...

But has a rather large head, so he has to rest it frequently!:)
Eating Habits:
He eats baby food with rice cereal twice a day now & eats about every 4 hours during the day. I'm still nursing him, but we are working on getting him used a bottle...so that I can go to Youth Conference with our ward next week!
He can pick up crackers, cheerios & other small food with his fingers & loves to sit and feed himself! He has LOVED everything we have tried feeding him!:)

Play Habits:
He is the happiest kid in the world! He is always smiling and rarely fusses. He lights up my day & it is so fun to watch him and Parker interact more and more each day!

He is SOOO ticklish & LOVES kisses & will giggle and giggle if you do either!
Parker and him have begun to WRESTLE:)
I always have to hold my breath, but as Parker rolls around on the floor with him, Ryler USUALLY just laughs!
...Every now and then, Parker gets too rough & I have to step in...but it won't be long before Ryler is bigger than Parker & rolling HIM around!

Ryler has had a blast at the ranch! We were able to go up twice this month & hope to be able to go more this summer!
Ryler is very well-behaved at church, especially compared to his 2 year old brother:)
He has outgrown his baby carseat, so I love getting to hold & cuddle him all throughout church...even when he is sleeping!
I gave him a vanilla wafer & he stuck the WHOLE thing in his mouth and thought it was so funny!:)

Sleep Habits:
This has probably been his WORST month of sleeping!
NOT FUN!!!
He popped 2 teeth last month, which were followed by an Ear Infection:( Poor kid.

It didn't help that his schedule was EVERYWHERE this past month!

Between teething, an ear infection, going to the ranch, coming home, going to girls camp, coming home, going to the ranch again...and coming home...
it is NO WONDER why his sleep schedule has been terrible!

We are FINALLY getting back on schedule after all of our vacations & then Parker decided that he is afraid there are monsters under his bed & has been waking up crying every night...which wakes up Ryler:(

No matter how terrible he sleeps, he still wakes up with a big smile on his face that melts my heart! :)

Any 1st this month???
Going to the Ranch for the 1st time !
Beginning to Crawl...army style!
