Ward Halloween Carnival

We had our Ward party on Halloween this year from 4-5:30, so everyone could come play games and enjoy dinner, before heading off to trick or treating! We had a great turnout and several non-members in the neighborhood join us and the kids had a blast! Grandma and Grandpa Allen showed up, which was so nice of them and Ryler was so excited since he had mailed them an invitation! We didn't do a ton of trick-or-treating after, just our street and then we went to the Hubers and Grandma Brinton's house. The kids got plenty of candy from the Ward party, so they didn't even need any more! Matt was hunting and we missed him this year, but overall it was a great Halloween! 

T-Shirt Art

The boys found a bag of blank t-shirts that someone gave me to use as "paint smocks" for preschoolers and I never did. They begged me to let them paint them, so we pulled out the puffy paints and some fabric markers and they went to town! They LOVED this! I loved watching each of their personalities come out in their drawings. It was a perfect afternoon activity on Halloween day, while Jaynie slept and Daddy was out of town hunting. 

Book Jacket Parade

Ryler is going to bed Thursday night and suddenly remembers to tell me he has a parade in the morning at 8am and he needs a costume!? I hadn't heard anything about this, so he goes and gets his paper that I was probably supposed to see on Monday on sending in some "props" for his book jacket parade so he can look more like an astronaut! I tried telling him he could hold an American flag and call it good, but he insisted on needing a jet pack! Haha! So...in 20 minutes, we made a "jet pack" and I sent him to bed! We went to see him parade around the school the next morning and I am so glad we did, because he was so happy to see us! One of the teachers said something like "wow! You are such a great writer" and he came home and was so excited to tell me a teacher said he was a real writer! He is so creative, so things like this are so fun for him and I am so glad the school did this! 

Sidewalk chalk

Creative Writing

Despite the MANY opportunities to get creative...Ryler just kept on EATING! Haha! And then finally he "waited"...probably for dessert. I love this boy! 

Wrigley

Wrigs turned ONE and had a party set for a king! It was so fun celebrating with this cute boy! 

Storehouse Directors

Matt's parents are serving a mission at the Bishop's storehouse and were recently asked to be the Directors! It is a big increase in time commitment, but they are amazing and are doing it! It is Parker's new FAVORITE place to go(he was in tears on the way to the Dino museum last week because he wanted t go to the Bishop's storehouse), so when he had a half day, I arranged to drop him off and he spent the day with Grandpa and Grandma. He loves it so much and I am glad he got some time to serve and be with his grandparents. He went to play at their house after and had fun playing games with Grandpa! After work, we ended up bringing dinner over to celebrate their first week with their new "promotion"! They are such amazing examples to me and I am so thankful for their willingness to serve. 

Idea Museum

The kids had a half day so we headed to the idea museum to see their new All Aboard exhibit! We had the entire museum to ourselves...seriously it was s empty! It was really nice! Kylie and her kids ended up coming down too and the kids had a blast together! 

Beauty

My cousin Holly had a beautiful baby girl this week! Our family has been fasting and praying for this beautiful girl to be healthy and we are so glad she is here to play!!!

Split ear

Parker turned quickly into the corner of the wall at my mom's house and split his ear open!? Not even sure how this happens and hard to tell in this picture but he split it pretty good and prob could have use a couple stitches, but it eventually stopped bleeding and seems to be healing okay!

Phelps Halloween Carnival

We love partying all month long! The Phelps Halloween carnival was a success and Carden switched from hulk to a magician at this party and daddy got to join us for this one too! 

Snowflake

Matt was out of town on a school Science trip and it was Fall Break, so we decided to head up to Snowflake with my mom to see Jeff and Liz and kids, since they just loved there this summer! We had so much fun and the weather could not have been more beautiful! It wasn't hot and wasn't cold and it rained the last day! Their backyard is a boy paradise and the kids had so much fun digging for worms, playing tag, riding bikes, making a fire, making smores, building train tracks, playing card games, making Carmel apples, going to the park and more! We helped them clean out their basement, so their boys could use it as a playroom and helped with a few other things to help them get ready for their baby that is coming next month! It was so fun to see where they are living and spend time with them!
