Jumpstreet Birthday

I told Parker he could have a family birthday party this year and could choose something off the Pogo Pass(because I am cheap...and smart)haha. He chose Jumpstreet and we invited all our siblings and kids and EVERYONE on both sides, including grandparents were able to come(except Jeff and Liz- we missed them) but a great big turnout and everyone had a blast! Parker had the time of his life! He did invite his best friend, Gage, who lives across the street. They have become best buddies this year and he had to have him there!!;) It was so great to have so many cousins celebrating with him and we ended the night with "plain glazed donuts" per Parker's request! He went to bed very happy that night!!! I can't believe he is 7!

SEVEN!

Parker got to kick off the week with his birthday on Monday! He was "Star of the week" and was excited to take in his poster and show & tell(a scorpion in a bubble thing) and treats for his class(he choose wafer cookies-he loves those things!)

Ryler, Carden and I came to eat lunch with him and brought his favorite- Wendy's:) It is soooo funny, because he gets a cheeseburger, ketsup only, wherever we go, but he insists that Wendy's "tastes soooo good and puts just the right amount of ketsup". Crazy boy:) We splurged and brought happy meals and he was all smiles with his apple slices(no he doesn't like French fries??) and frosty! There was a sweet moment in the middle of lunch when he looked up at me and said "I wish Grandpa could be here for my birthday". I asked, "which Grandpa?" And he pointed up and said "the one in heaven". It made me happy and sad that he still thinks about Grandpa and wanted him to be there with him on his special day. Parker has given me many special moments like this and I am so grateful for his tender heart.

I had so much fun watching him at recess. He is a little social butterfly and I think played tag the entire time we were outside. That boy has an incredible amount of energy! I sure love my Parker boy and was so glad he had such a wonderful Birthday!!!

Celebrate!

These 3 always get to celebrate their birthdays together every year and we love it! Whit made this cute 1/2 blue and 1/2 pink cake for the kids and they loved it! Fun birthday celebration with the Allen  family!

National Comedy Theatre

The Allen clan enjoyed a date night to the National Comedy Theatre this weekend to celebrate Whitney's birthday! We missed Craig and Heidi, but had a great time with lots of laughs and then stopped at Mesa Frozen Yogurt after for a treat! It was a fun date night out with people we love!

Riverview Park

They opened the brand new Riverview park and Chicago Cubs Spring Training Stadium for a public open house last weekend so we had to go check it out! My dad worked really hard to get the Cubs to stay in Mesa and the contract was signed just before he passed away, so we are grateful to be able to see some of his dreams become reality. It is quite incredible! We will for SURE take our boys to a game this year and the park and playground is incredible as well. The playground equipment is on the dangerous side, complete with the world's highest climbing web, a zipline, a splash pad and more! There is a gorgeous pond where you can fish and lots of green grass to play in! It looks absolutely beautiful and I am so glad we got to go enjoy it! I so wish my dad was walking around with us, giving us a "tour" of everything they did, but I know he is always near and this park will be enjoyed by so many for years and years to come and I am honored to know he had a huge part of it!

"I NEED..."

This kid is trouble lately! And I mean that in the "he is so cute, he can get away with anything kind of way"! He is at the best stage! He is so much fun and always cracking us up! He LOVES everything and is always saying "thank you" and "I love you so much" and it melts my heart. Lately he has been saying "I need you..." For different things he wants. Usually at bedtime, it's "But, I need you mommy" and it's so sweet, he usually gets to stay up and snuggle for 5 more minutes. Seriously I can't say no to this boy. So we drop Ryler off at preschool yesterday and we are heading home (10am) and I hear, in the sweetest voice ever, "mommy, I really really need icecream". Haha! I was laughing so hard and then he says "with sprinkles on top...I really need icecream with sprinkles on top". I tell him he is silly and we don't have icecream in the morning...and then, before I know it, I am pulling into the next fast food place I see to buy him some icecream! He is just SO CUTE!! Besides, I got him a strawberry banana smoothie so I am sure it was sorta healthy;) haha

Cousins

Every now and then we just need a GIRLS NIGHT and the Phelps girls are always up for some fun! We met at Sprinkles in Scottsdale...but ended up next door at Yogurtland & had a fun night visiting! I love these girls!

Child labor

Let's pretend like it's completely safe to let your 6 year old up on the roof to sweep the leaves down that have been sitting there for over a month! Besides...he is almost 7:) And I think he thought it was he best chore he has ever done! haha

Post Haircut Swim

What do you do after Grandma buzzes your hair and you have hair all over you? You go swimming to wash it off! No biggie that it's January, when you live in Mesa!!;) Truthfully, they barely put their feet in and once I started washing off their shoulders and backs, they opted to run inside and take a warm bath instead! Still a BIT too cold for swimming...but it is gorgeous outside lately!!

MLK Parade

A beautiful day with my family watching the Martin Luther King Jr Parade! Carden is extremely attached to Uncle Rob right now and I think it's a adorable. He asks for him all the time and loves to play with him. He left my lap at the parade to sit with Rob, so I had to get a picture of the two of them:) Rob is so great and is his buddy and always takes time for him. I am grateful for such a wonderful role model for my Carden boy!

Talia's Birthday

Sadly the day of Talia's birthday party at Skateland, Ryler woke up throwing up and we were stuck home for the day:( Whitney was wonderful and came to pick up Parker so he could still go and have fun and it looks like by the pictures that everyone had a wonderful time!!! Glad she had a great birthday and I was very very sad to be home cleaning up throw up instead of out with family celebrating!

Library

Took these boys to the library after school and out for PINK SMOOTHIES to celebrate having a baby SISTER!!! I love these 3 and can't wait to see them hold their baby sister in their arms:)
