When your AC breaks...

...and you're MISERABLY HOT...
just head up North & cool off! :)

My mom sliding down the cinder pit with Parker!
What a FUN Grandma!
Ryler...wondering what in the heck are on his feet! :)
I really can't believe he is 6 months old & this was the first time I've put shoes on him...
but it was.
I LOVE the "Ranch" and am so happy to see that my kids love it as much as I do!
Parker could throw ROCKS all day long...
so he was in HEAVEN with an indefinite supply of rocks at his fingertips!
Going on a walk with Grandma...
I absolutely LOVE watching these 2 together!
They LOVE eachother & I thought this was SO funny that Ryler was actually "watching" a movie with Parker
Parker ALMOST dumped him out...

My mom happened to be driving my little sister up to EFY & since we had nothing else to do & were SOOOO HOT in our house after 3 days of the AC not working..we jumped in for the ride! We stayed overnight at our family's cabin & headed home the next day...to a cool home(THANKS to my cousin who came and fixed it while I was gone!) It was a nice get-a-way with my mom and boys!

Midnight Madness...

and one o'clock ...
& two o'clock ...
& three o'clock ...
& four o'clock...
okay, you get the point.

Ryler has NOT been sleeping for the past couple of weeks.
And not like waking up every couple of hours...
but several times every hour!

And when Ryler doesn't sleep,
mom doesn't sleep.

I have been absolutely exhausted the past couple of weeks and
day to day, I don't know how I'm going to get through the day!
My house has been a disaster, because if there is even a moment of quiet time...I have been trying to relax on the couch. I've missed some play dates because I can't manage to hardly get the kids dressed, let alone myself showered & ready. The boys have made sure NEVER to nap at the same time, ensuring that there will be NO TIME for me to take a nap & the more days I went without sleep, the more exhausted I became!

After the first few days, I didn't know what to do!? Then his bottom 2 teeth popped through & I felt so bad for the poor little boy! He was TEETHING & I didn't even know it! He got all my sympathy & I tried giving his some Tylenol the next few nights which didn't really work, so I went and got some Orajel...which also didn't seem to work. I have been trying to figure out HOW TO HELP him sleep & nothing seemed to work!

Lastnight I went to a Baby Shower & got home about 10pm. Ryler was still awake & out of nowhere I decided, "Ryler has an ear infection. I'm taking him to Urgent Care"
Urgent Care was closed.
One call later, my sister-in-law directed me to an all night Pediatric office & we were on our way.
Sure enough, he had a bad ear infection:(
POOR BOY!!!

I feel TERRIBLE that I had been writing off all his symptoms to teething, when it was his ears that were bothering him! They gave him some Motrin, some numbing ear drops & some NyQuil & we picked up his prescription on our way home (after driving around looking for a 24 hour pharmacy for at least 30 minutes!) & he SLEPT ALL NIGHT last night! Wooohoooo!!!

I could run a marathon with the energy I have today!

...or at least tackle the toilets, which is less exciting than a marathon...
but needs to be done nevertheless!

Sidenote: Is it just me that is wondering WHY they gave him NyQuil??? Maybe the doctor could tell how tired I looked & decided I needed my rest, so he knocked him out with medicine? In my opinion, the Motrin, his ear drops & the prescription would have been enough ??? Don't you think?

Lazy Fun...

Summer is really no different than the rest of the year, because I do not have kids in school yet...
but for some reason it makes for
LAZY DAYS.
And it has been so nice
to lay around and
SOMETIMES get the kids dressed,
but mostly lay around in diapers...well the kids, not me:)

My SILLY BOYS keep a SMILE on my face
EVERY
SINGLE
DAY!

Hope you are able to enjoy a LAZY SUMMER too!

6 Months!

Ryler is 6 Months Old!!!

We went to the Doctor today for his 6 month well check/shots & our BIG BOY is healthy as can be! Here are his stats:
Weight: 20 lbs 11 oz - 90%
Height: 27 inches - 75%
Head: 18.25 - 97%
I wish chubby thighs were that cute on me!
After his shots...
He was pretty sad, but cheered up pretty quickly.
Here he is with a small smile, with tears still running down his sweet cheeks!

Sleep Habits:
These past few weeks he has been up a LOT at night:(
Which makes for a VERY TIRED MOM!!!
I finally discovered what has been bothering him, when his FIRST TOOTH broke through 2 days ago...followed by his SECOND TOOTH the next day!
He takes a 2 to 3 naps a day...either 2 longer ones or 3 shorter ones...
depending on if we are home or running around town(he falls asleep in the car no matter what!)
He sleeps on his back with his pacifier & likes to have a blanky to snuggle with.
As soon as he seems tired, we can lay him down in his crib awake & he usually falls right to sleep, which is really nice.

Play Habits:

Ryler WANTS to crawl, but isn't quite there yet. He can roll all over the floor & turn in circles on his belly & will be crawling before we know it, I'm sure. He LOVES to sit up & play with toys. He chews on EVERYTHING in sight(makes sense now that his bottom 2 teeth have popped through). He LOVES to sing songs & laughs if we play Patty Cake with him. He LOVES having your attention all to himself & gets a LOT of attention with those cute dimples of his! It seems like he is rarely put down at a family get together & Parker & I keep him pretty entertained at home:) We have discovered his LOVE for WATER this month & enjoys every opportunity to play in the pool! He loves to sit in his walker & can even push himself around if he is on tile. He is VERY TICKLISH & will laugh and laugh if you tickle him! He LOVES to take baths & can now sit up in the tub & take baths with his brother. He is SUCH a joy to be around & is almost always smiling!

Eating Habits:
Ryler WANTS to eat everything we eat! I can see it in his eyes:) He is ALWAYS watching us with big jealous eyes at meal time. He eats rice cereal/oatmeal twice a day...morning & night right now. H eats 5 times a day...around 5 am- 9am - 1pm-5pm & 8pm...I'm HOPING he will get rid of the 5am feeding SOON & all will be wonderful! He started eating veggie puffs this month & Parker LOVES to feed them to him! He has had his first tastes of "real food" this month--not really eating, but sucking on graham crackers, grapes, apples & animal crackers.
BROTHERS
Parker & Ryler are BEST FRIENDS already!!! From the minute Parker wakes up, he gives his attention to Ryler & whenever Ryler is napping, Parker will say "Where'd baby go?"
I have to remind him to be SOFT with him still, but even if he isn't...Ryler is the most mellow baby & will usually just smile...even if Parker is squeezing his cheeks, wiggling his arms, sitting on his back...he just seems to love that his big brother is playing with him:)

Any FIRSTS this Month???
1st...TWO teeth
1st time to try Jar Food-Green Beans & LOVED every bite!
1st Swim

1st TRIP...to our friends cabin in Strawberry:)
which also included his 1st time to Fossil Springs...which is pretty good, considering it was also MY first time to Fossil Springs!

HAPPY 6 MONTHS!!!
May the next 6 not fly by QUITE so fast!!!

Cabin Trip

Parker was a LITTLE BIT HAPPY when we got to our friend's cabin for Memorial Day weekend!!!
So was Ryler...
We have already predicted marriage for these two...
so cute...
We spent the weekend in Strawberry @ our friend's cabin & we had a BLAST!
They took us to the Tonto Natural Bridge, which was GORGEOUS & a fun little hike!

Once we got to the bottom, Mandy & I opted to hang out with Clara & Ryler & let our husbands hike back under the bridge with the kids. We were praying the whole time that they weren't going to fall!!!
luckily they made it back safely...
This girl is SOOOO stinkin' cute! I could have taken pictures of her all weekend.
Oh wait, I did!

Parker did the entire hike by himself! He would not let us help & I couldn't believe his energy!
Back at the cabin, playing like "4 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed"
Our friend, Jordan, was smiling like a kid in a candy store when he saw that the "Oldest Schoolhouse in AZ" was open & we had to stop! He said it is always closed when he drives by & he finally got to go inside & take some pictures with his son, to document the event ! :)
After our stop at the schoolhouse, we headed to Fossil Springs.
Mandy & I had never been there & didn't know what to expect(or we would have planned better & packed swimsuits & towels!) It was beautiful & despite the fact that we didn't plan for it, the boys(& Ashley) still decided to get in the water!

These 2 didn't get in the water, but they did get to catch some rays:)
After Fossil Springs, we headed back to the cabin for SMORES...
And within minutes, the Fire Dept was there...haha
They were so nice though & didn't even make us put out the fire, even though there were fire restrictions that we didn't know about.

Parker tried pulling Ashley up this hill & actually got most of the way up by himself, before needing a little help.
Golfing with a crochet mallet:)
Cute kids on one last wagon ride, before heading home...

I was trying to get a picture of all the kids, but Parker wouldn't come over...
He was swinging...:)
THANKS JORDAN & MANDY for a FUN-FILLED WEEKEND!!!
Sorry we invited ourselves, but we are glad we did! It was a lot of fun!!!
