Monday Makeover-Closet Edition

I've decided to start a NEW blogging idea, where every Monday I will post a MONDAY MAKEOVER!:)

Today my makeover was my CLOSET!!!

I have SO many clothes that I NEVER wear, but just can't ever seem to part with. Whether the clothes are hanging in the back of my closet because they are too small(and I have dreams of one day fitting back into them) or they are just out of style...I decided it was time to go through all of my clothes & give the ones I don't wear to someone that might actually need them!

So, I emptied ALL the clothes out of my closet...

And my Drawers...

And piled them on my bed...

And the floor...
And then went through them one item at a time...
(this is 1/2 way through my closet cleanout!)

Then I started to organize the clothes I wanted to keep OR give away....

And slowly discovered my bed under that pile of clothes...

And found that my closet was still full with ONLY the clothes that I actually wear...

And same with my drawers...

And accumulated THIS PILE of clothes to GIVE AWAY!!!

Feeling Blue

The other day when I took pictures of Parker's BLUE hands,

I didn't realize that the rest of his body was feeling blue as well :(

He is such a happy baby, it took me awhile to realize that something wasn't right. After waking up crying 5 times in one night & my mom's infinite wisdom to press on his ears to see if he had an ear infection, I made an appt with our amazing Pediatrician- who confirmed a NASTY ear infection in his right ear & prescribed some antibiotics for my little guy!

I'M SO GRATEFUL FOR MODERN MEDICINE!!!

I'M HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT PARKER SLEPT MUCH BETTER WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM THESE MEDS & IS BACK TO HIS HAPPY LITTLE SELF TODAY:)

Just Clownin' Around

We were just hanging out with Grandma & in walks Grandpa from work with this clown wig (I have NO idea why he had it??? I forgot to ever ask???) Anyhow...thought Parker might like the BRIGHT colors & texture of the hair!

Then we thought he might look cute with the wig on...

and that he did!

Why not add the red nose & get a picture of my cute little clown!?!
Good Idea???

...BAD idea!

...Yes, I'm a cruel mom. NOT because I did this, but because I did it TWICE so I could get pictures of him! He calmed down pretty fast & we wanted to know if he would react the same if we tried it again. Both times the EXACT same thing happened. Played with the wig...liked it...put the wig on...liked it...put the NOSE on...SCREAMED!!! (I guess he doesn't like anything plugging up his airway!) Sorry Parker! But you do make the cutest clown ever!:) I will blame myself if he grows up with a Clown Phobia!

Lesson learned=
WASHABLE based ink pad - not DYE based!!!
But I am just happy I finally got his cute handprints on paper! The footprints are from when he was 6 weeks old & now at 5 months, I finally got him to cooperate & loosen up his fists, so I could stamp his handprints in his baby book:)

Meet one of my very best friends- April...

and her HUSBAND Jimmer!!!

Do I sound surprised? Well, I was, along with many other friends & family when this POST-announcement showed up in the mailbox! You see...April's parents are mission president's in Uruguay, so April & Jimmer were flying down at the end of May so that her boyfriend could MEET her dad and ask permission to marry April! Instead...they thought it would be fun to get married while they were down there & surprise her dad...and everyone else! This was decided barely 2 weeks before they flew down there! So, basically...they ran off to Uruguay & ELOPED! I'm SO happy for her & she is SO happy & didn't have to stress about any wedding details before she was married AND her dad was able to be there-SO special! Her siblings and grandma were also able to fly down and be there for the wedding and Jimmer's parents, so it turned out to be a very Special day! AND...they were the 1st Americans to be sealed in the Uruguay temple! (I guess it is not every day that American's fly down there to get married!)

Anyhow...I am so HAPPY for them & wish them the VERY BEST!!! We are throwing her a POST-friends shower at Cafe Rio this Saturday, so if any of you know April well enough to want to come...jump on board & come celebrate with us!

Matt has only been a father for 4 months & 3 weeks and is already the BEST!!! I don't know how I got so incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful husband that is such a wonderful dad to Parker! He has such a natural ability with kids & Parker LOVES him so much! I can't ever get him laughing like his daddy can! When Matt walks in the door from work, Parker's eyes get so big & a huge smile spreads across his face & then he starts kicking with excitement...because he knows it's Play Time with Daddy! I look forward to watching my hubby continue to be a wonderful father to MANY MANY more children(jk babe! How about to a few more!) He is absolutely amazing & I love him more every single day!

And....a Happy Father's Day...

...to the best DAD a girl could ask for! My dad is the most incredible person & has raised 7 children with more patience than anyone I have ever known! I always considered myself a "Daddy's Girl" growing up & knew I could get what I wanted if I asked my dad! He always knew how to calm me down when I was upset & has helped me so much through the years with all his wonderful advice! He is the greatest example of a Christ-like person and amazes me more each day with his generosity and kind heart! Thank you dad for all you have done for me & CONTINUE to do for me each and every day! I LOVE YOU more than you will ever realize!

...to this Dad who raised the most amazing son in the world! I am so grateful for my father-in-law and the wonderful example he has been to my hubby throughout the years! I know exactly where Matt gets his talent of being such a great father! My father-in-law is extremely talented & is so willing to work hard for his family and loves and supports them each day! A grandpa of 2 now...the grandkids love him so much & I am so grateful for the role model he will be to Parker! I sure love and appreciate you!

BUNKO PRIZE

Okay...so Bunko was lasnight & was a BLAST as always! It was at Crystal's new place & it was SO cute, I couldn't believe she just moved in 2 months ago! It was all decked out & I just loved the way she decorated her house! We had so much fun just hanging out & chatting up a storm. Congrats to all FOUR of my g-friends that are PREGO with baby GIRLS right now(Catherine, Tiffany, Brittany & Alyse!) Parker is going to be in Heaven when all those cute girls are born!

So, this was the gift I won! Isn't it so cute? I thought it was pretty GREAT, especially since we only bring/get a $5 gift each time and the toppings alone would cost more than that! This little gem was a re-gift from one of the girl's weddings(I won't say who---just in case you gave it to her!) & I'm so glad she chose to bring it to Bunko & I'm so glad I got it! This little swirly-doohicky is to hold the icecream cones...how cute is that!?! I can't wait to have some friends over for an icecream party!

"THE LIP"

Ever since Parker was born, he has been a PRO at the "puppy-dog" lip. When he gets sad, he sticks out his lip & it even quivers. I hate to say it...but it is the CUTEST thing in the world! I didn't have a picture of him doing it forever, because when he would get sad, I would jump to hold him...not jump to grab the camera. BUT...I decided this cute thing MUST be documented & so now I grab the camera every once in awhile and get a picture of it...and THEN I calm him down!:)

Unnecessary...maybe?

Let me tell you a little story...Parker's bald spot was growing larger and larger by the second...while the hair underneath was growing longer and longer by the second...resulting in...

...a baby mullet...

...(notice he is practically completely bald, minus his baby mullet)...

...so one Saturday afternoon, Grandma & I decided it was time to give him a haircut...

...my mom said she had NEVER cut a 4 month's old hair before...

...but Parker held very still for her & we said GOODBYE TO "BABY MULLET"!

....resulting in...Parker's 1st Haircut!

P- phobia- Any church calling that has to do with music! I would hate to ever say NO to a calling, but come on...they better NEVER call me to chorister or pianist or anything like that!

Q- quotes- Ummm...Matt & I quote The Office on a regular basis :)

R- right or left handed: righty

S- siblings- 4 brothers & 2 sisters---might I add that I am smack dab in the middle of the 4 boys!

U- unique talent: ummm...hmmmm....Oh! I can play Yankee Doodle on the Piano with my nose!

W- worst habit: People watching(or People Staring as my husband would say) at restaurants

Y- yummy food you make: One of my favorites is Chinese Chicken Salad...but sadly the cabbage gives Parker gas, so it has been TOO LONG since I've been able to eat this goodness!

Rice Cereal

Every mom has to take pictures of their kid eating rice cereal for the 1st time! Okay...so I could've kept it a little cleaner...but it wouldn't have made for such cute pictures if he didn't have food all over his face!:) He actually did pretty good and ate more than I thought he would for the 1st time!
