Cubs Game

We had to go to a game at the new Cubs Stadium, so we planned a day during Spring Break and took our crew! I think this was the first game I have ever paid for- crazy, I have so many memories going to games growing up, and took for granted my dad was always able to get us in when we wanted to go! We had a great time, despite it being REALLY HOT and the kids being done after a couple of innings! It was still fun to go and we walked over to Riverview park after and let the kids cool off in the splash pad:) It was a fun first day of Spring Break!

St. Patty's Sunday

Melanie prepared her traditional corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots and we all provided a green side to celebrate our St. Patty's Sunday dinner! It is fun to have a new tradition in the family since Melanie joined our fam! Love it!

Baby Girl

Went to the doctor today, took Ryler and Carden, thinking it would be a quick visit and didn't realize I was having an ultrasound! They were crazy, but I love ultrasounds, so let's pretend like the visit was perfect and my angels sat quietly the whole time;)

Baby is doing great and right one track for her due date, he took all her measurements and estimated her birth weight to be 7 1/2lbs. I can't wait for June!

Spring Pictures

They do Fall and Spring pictures at school now and I am not quite willing to buy both packages, but had to document this before sending the packet back to school!:) I do love his little bottom tooth gap and hands in his pockets, so I was tempted. Haha I love this First Grader!!!

Coach Pitch

Parker is playing Coach Pitch this year with all his friends that he has played t-ball with for the last 2 years so it should be a fun year! Not sure if these little kiddos will be able to hit a pitched ball, but they are having fun!;)

T-Ball

Ryler had his first t-ball practice and it was soooo cute to watch! His cousin Powell came over that day so he practiced throwing and stopping the ball with Ryler, so he actually looked like he knew what he was doing out there:) He was really shy at first(luckily Powell came with us and helped practice with him until he felt comfortable) and now he is so excited!

Madison Picnic

We went to Parker's school for a family picnic and had a great time! I had to laugh because as we were looking for a place to sit and lay our blanket down, 3 little girls started following Parker and when I laid the blanket down, they asked to sit with us;) I am thinking I have a ladies man on my hands! Luckily he is oblivious and ran off to play with Gage as soon as he ate! I really like our neighborhood school and am grateful for the fun things they always do!

25 Weeks

I am pregnant! With a GIRL! Sometimes I have to remind myself I am really having a girl! It was my toughest pregnancy first trimester, being sick, but I am feeling good now and want to star getting things done before baby girl arrives!

Good Things Are Coming...

We grabbed chinese and went to the park to eat last weekend and after I read Ryler's fortune to him, his face LIT UP and he said, "I know! Jesus is coming!!!"

Aviation Day

Matt was gone at a shooting event last Saturday and I decided to take the boys to Gateway Airport Aviation Day. I was exhausted by the end of the day, but they had so much fun and it was nice to get out with these 3 boys and watch them have so much fun! We will definitely be back next year!

Dancing The Night Away

Jordan's little sister got married and the reception was in my mom's backyard so we went to enjoy a night of fun, food and DANCING! I could barely get my kids to leave the dance floor when it was time to go! Haha! An adorable moment of the night was when Ryler walked up to my mom and said "Grandma, will you be my dance partner!?" It was soooo cute! She of course said yes and they even slow danced one song and she pulled up a chair for Ryler:)  my boys thought the photo booth was a blast and prob would have kept taking picture after picture if I let them!

AZ winter

Enjoying our sunny Arizona winter before it gets too hot to play outside!

Dress Up

I love getting texts like this from my husband while I am gone:) "Parker said he was daddy and Ryler said he was the bishop."

I am Busy

I changed Carden's diaper yesterday and asked him to throw it in the garbage when I was all done and he looked at me and said "I am too busy right now"

Haha! He clearly had nothing on his agenda, but it made me laugh:)

I am NOT a big boy!

Carden is going through something...not exactly sure what?! Probably "being two". He is the sweetest, cutest, most energetic boy and I think he knows a baby is on the way and he isn't giving up the baby status without a fight;)

This "fight" still includes being ridiculously cute, which makes it hard not to smile:)

I decided last week I might attempt potty training him before baby girl arrives. I took him to the store to pick out his own underwear and bought him his own gum all machine at the dollar store and explained he gets a gum ball every time he goes, trying to get him excited. I took off his diaper and put on his underwear and he looks straight into my eyes as I am doing it and says "I am NOT ready for this!" I was dying and in my husband's words, "If he can say he isn't ready, he is definitely ready". He just has zero desire. He has told us regularly since, in response to our "don't you want to be a big boy and go potty on the toilet" talk..."I am NOT a big boy, I am a baby!" And "I love diapers, I do not want to go potty on the toilet" and "I love pooping in my diaper!"
I am not sure what blows my mind more, his perfectly formed sentences or the fact that he is being so stubborn. I potty trained Ryler at an older age, with much less vocabulary, yet Carden has no desire.  I believe he knows the baby is on her way and isn't going to allow her to take over just yet;) Which, is actually perfectly fine with me. He IS my baby and I only have a few more months with him as the baby and I am going to try my best to help him feel excited to become a "big brother" and not feel like he is being replaced or kicked out of his baby status.

He is also suddenly struggling with sleeping lately. Coming out of his room with excuse after excuse each night, not falling asleep until late, making the next day a cranky day for all. I decided maybe it was time for him to give up his nap, so he would go to sleep better at night. Nope...not quite ready for that;) Not only was he grouchy all afternoon, he crashed on the couch at dinner time, making an even later night than normal. Who knows what is going to help him sleep, we will figure it out someday???

I want HIM to WANT to grow up, but I am not going to force it. For him and for me, it's not worth the fight. Meanwhile, I will enjoy his responses as I TRY to get him ready and try not to pull my hair out:)
