Early Birthday Surprise

Ryler turns TWO this week, but lets not get overly excited, I'm enjoying my ONE YEAR OLD for a few more days. I'm not quite ready for him to grow up!

Ready or not, his birthday is coming & some of our good friends SHOWERED him with Birthday Gifts on Sunday..

My boys LOVE the Huber's house because they have ANIMALS!!!
Meet Pippin the bunny...

and Max, the dog...
Ryler so happy...with the 2 that spoiled him rotten!

Bath Time

I just ordered these Foam Bath Letters with Fishing Poles from CSN for FREE:)
My boys LOVE them. Parker can stick them on the walls and spell words and they both love "catching the letters".

6 years ago Today...

In June of 2004,
Matt & I began dating...

6 months later
we were married,
for Time
and
All Eternity.

6 years later
we are living up that TIME portion of our marriage
and looking forward to the ETERNITY part!

I feel so grateful to be married to my best friend.
He puts up with a lot.
He makes me laugh on a daily basis.
He is an incredible dad.
He works so hard every day to provide for our family.
We were MADE for each other.
Happy Anniversary, I love you!!!

It's the end of the world as we know it...

1:00pm- Lay Ryler down for his nap
1:05pm-Ryler comes running out to the Family Room...
oh no! He climbed out of his crib!!!
1:06pm-I put him back in his crib and told him not to get out
1:07pm-Oh hello again
1:08pm-"Do you want to lay in a big boy bed?"
1:09pm-Lay him down in Parker's bed
1:15pm-Out comes Ryler
1:16-Lay down in bed with Ryler
1:30-Still laying in bed as he jumps on the bed with delight that he is on a "big boy bed"
1:45pm-Put him back in his crib
2:10pm-yay! haven't heard him in awhile
2:15pm-Ryler comes running down the hallway
2:16pm-Decide to put him in Parker's room and lock the door
(we have Parker's room set up so we can "lock" the door if needed from the outside)
2:17pm-Crying and banging on the door begins
2:30pm-I finally hear heavy breathing on the other side of the door, he is asleep!

Fast forward...
8pm-Bath, Brush Teeth, Scriptures & Prayers
8:30pm-Lay him down in his crib, hoping that because it is DARK he won't remember how to crawl out;)
8:35pm-Crying and crashing sounds. He is OUT of his crib, but can't manage to find the door and is running into walls, chairs and other things.
8:40pm-He finds door and comes running out
8:41pm-Put him back in his crib
8:42pm-He comes out crying
8:43pm-Decide to try putting him in Parker's room in a big boy bed
8:50pm-Parker can't sleep because Ryler is crying, neither boy can fall asleep.
9:00pm-Decide to strap him in his stroller and put him in his room. He is very excited, thinking he is going on a walk, but starts crying when I push him in his room and shut the door.
9:05pm-Ryler comes crying down the hall!  He is seriously an escape artist!
9:10pm-We decide to take the box spring thing off the crib and put the crib mattress directly on the floor...another good 6 inches he would have to climb. Impossible, right?
9:30pm-Crib mattress is set up on ground...super low. Ryler is in footy pj's, which will just SLIDE if he tries to climb. We lay Ryler down for bed.
9:35pm-Ryler comes walking into the Family Room(very proud of himself, by the way)
9:40pm-Decide I needed to buckle the shoulder straps on the stroller, as well as the lap belt. Make sure it is tight and there is no way he can get out.
9:45pm-Crying and crying and crying. I feel terrible, but know he needs to go to sleep.
9:55pm-Ryler comes walking into the family room!!!
10:00pm-Out of ideas
10:10pm-Lay his crib mattress in the middle of his room and lay down next to him
10:30pm-I wake up, realizing I had fallen asleep and meanwhile Ryler had left to get toys and had come back to his bed with all of his toys and wanted to show me!
10:40pm-Start prying the door handle off of his door, so I can reverse it and be able to lock it.
10:50pm-Lay him down and LOCK his door!
11:00pm-we hear him get out of his crib and then crying and crying and crying.
11:05pm-Realize he is not just crying because he is locked in, but because he is SCARED.
11:10-Check on him...not in his room??
Oh he is in his closet! Scared to death.
Tried finding his way out and got "lost".
Poor boy.
11:20pm-I feel so bad for him and lay him down in my bed with me & go to sleep...when I woke up this morning, he was sleeping next to me, so I guess he fell asleep eventually.

ANY IDEAS OF WHAT I CAN DO????
PLEASEEEEE!!!

We met up with Julie & her kids at the Veteran's Day Parade this year!

My kids found this cool tree & were more intrigued with it, then they were with the parade.
My CUTE boys & their cheesy smiles!!!
Man, I love these 2!
Cute Mason loved the parade!

I'm so grateful to all of the men and women that have served our country in the past and continue serving our country today!

MS Walk & Lanee's Legacy

Saturday morning, we woke up bright & early, (a little too early for my liking) & headed off to the MS Walk. I spent the night at my parent's house that night with my cousin Jennie, so we could get up and go early.  It was so fun...I felt young again having a "slumber party", but we may or may not have stayed up too late watching the Wedding Planner;)

Here was our TEAM this year! My dad has lost both his brother and his sister to MS, so this cause is near to our family's hearts. I am so glad we participated & a special thanks to everyone that donated so graciously! It meant a lot! The walk winds through the Phoenix Zoo which is always fun & the weather was perfect! I opted to leave my kids asleep this year with Matt, but my nephew Mason kept us entertained and made sure we stopped to see all of the animals!

After the walk, I went directly to Red Mt Park to meet up with Matt & the boys for a Pancake Breakfast. They had already been there for hours, along with most of the Allens...but I'm glad I made it before it ended! My sis-in-law Heidi told us about "Lanee's Legacy"...a wonderful organization that distributes boxes to a variety of valley hospitals, who in turn can give them to grieving families who lose their babies in the hospital. This hit home, as we just watched Heidi deliver a beautiful baby boy this past July, knowing that she would not be taking him home from the hospital.  It was a great way to support a good cause and honor sweet Mason at the same time. To hear more about Lanee's Legacy & to find out what you can do to help, check out their blog HERE.
Some of the items in the boxes include:

Donation Items:

    • -"Forget Me Not" Seed Packets
    • -Blank CDs for copying
    • -CD Cases (wide spine)
    • -Disposable Cameras (indoor with a flash)
    • -Chocolate bars or hard tack candy
    • -Journals
    • -Memorex CD Label Refills
    • -Mini Kleenex Packets
    • -Mini photo books (brag books)
    • -Monetary Donations for supplies for boxes
    • -Pens
    • -Gift cards to Scrapbooks Etc. or Hobby Lobby

They had lots of fun activities for the kids....
Balloon Animals
Face Painting
Bouncers
and more!
My camera died before Parker got his balloon animal, but I had to snap a pic on my cell phone, because it was SO ADORABLE. The cutest balloon creation I have ever seen! It was a HAT & he walked around with it on his head & random people kept coming up and asking if they could take his picture, because it was so adorable!

The kids had so much fun & I'm so glad we were able to go!!!

Shopping with Shrek

What?

Shopping with your green Shrek Baby in a fireman raincoat is not something you do on a regular basis?

I think these 2 boys fought from the moment they woke up until they went to sleep today. They are at the ages where they want WHATEVER the other one has and they tease each other NON STOP.  Even though they are 2 years apart, they look SO CLOSE in age & without fail, if I take them into public, I get asked if they are twins. I love that they are growing up together & even though they don't always act like it, I know that they are the best of friends!

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!

CASPER

There was a FREE family Movie Night a couple weekends ago at the Mesa Ampitheatre & they were showing CASPER & I thought it would be a FUN activity to do with the boys!

My sister called to see if I could take her kids with us & my boys were so EXCITED to have cousins join them!
They had bounce houses/slides set up and the kids had fun getting their energy out before the movie started!

But they didn't get ALL of their energy out, because they were little wiggle worms during the movie;) Luckily it was outside & I don't think anyone noticed! Besides, after about 30 minutes, I decided that Casper was a little too scary for the little ones & we left and went to play at the park instead.

Oh well, we TRIED. Next time we will have to wait until it is a CARTOON playing!

The Halloween Wrap Up

This was a neighborhood/friends party of a family that works with my brother Rob, so he invited us to come! Matt was on a camporee, so we decided to go & I'm so glad we did. It was UNREAL...I felt like we were at Disneyland or something, the booths were so NICE & they gave the kids tickets at each one and then they could cash them in for prizes at the end. They also had delicious food & desserts & even though we couldn't stay long, I'm glad we stopped by.

This family pic was taken at my sis-in-law Heidi's family party that we went to Saturday night after our ward trunk or treat. It was so fun to spend some time with family and relax after a BUSY trunk or treat!
My adorable Buzz eating something nutritous after eating only candy at the ward trunk or treat...
My hubby & his brothers!
"Trunk or treating"....
Bounce House with his friend Lexie!
Games at ward party
I LOVE Halloween, love decorating for it, love the costumes & all of the parties...BUT I'm SO HAPPY it is all over and that it is NOVEMBER! Last week was SO BUSY with parties & preschool carnivals, I'm ready to enjoy my November...before the hustle and bustle of December begins!
