Always Remember...

A Run To Remember...

There is an annual "Run To Remember" held every year to honor those officers who were lost in the line of duty each year. We walked the 5K this year, in honor of Shane Figueroa...along with the 4 other officers who died in 2008.

All proceeds go towards helping the 2008 surviving families with their travel expenses to National Police Week in Washington D.C. in May 2009.

Melisha had shirts made up with Shane's picture on the back for the family/friends that were walking for Shane...

As you can tell, Parker didn't last very long in his stroller & wanted to walk ON HIS OWN...or be CARRIED...

TIME...

I haven't had much TIME for ME in the last...oh...5 1/2 weeks...

My usual ROUTINE...even before Ryler came...was SLEEPING in every day until Parker woke up...at around 8:30am-ish. Matt DOES wake me up for a quick kiss before he slips out the door around 7:30am & then I would roll over & drift off back to sleep--usually not remembering that he ever woke me in the 1st place. Since Ryler has been born, this has continued. I sleep until I HAVE TO wake up(because I'm TIRED)

Today Ryler did not wake up until 6:45am.
I fed him...finished up about 7:15am & I felt rested...because HE had slept all night!
So...I stayed AWAKE!
I had plans to make my hubby a delicious breakfast, but instead he made ME a delicious breakfast{THANK YOU!}
We sat down & ate & talked before he headed off to work.
Then I worked out.
Then I did the dishes.
Then I swept the kitchen.
Then I cleaned up the family room.
Then I put some laundry in.
I even had time for a shower.
I had some ME time.
THEN Parker woke up.

It has been a WONDERFUL day!
And I got to spend naptime this afternoon, relaxing instead of cleaning...because I cleaned up this morning!

I think I might just wake up at 7am EVERY DAY from now on!
New Year...New Goals...New Sleep Habits!

I'm not making any promises. Because if Ryler decides to wake me up a bunch at night...I WILL sleep until Parker wakes up. But when he is GREAT...like lastnight, I will wake up earlier & get MUCH MUCH MUCH more done in the mornings! And my day will be much better because of it! I might even get a daily shower. Oh that would = Heaven!

Thats the plan.
We'll see how it goes.

Hallie's Birthday!

We got to celebrate my niece Hallie's 3rd birthday with her! She had an ARIEL cake...her FAVORITE princess :-)

All the kids were eating their cake on this tablecloth for awhile. They didn't last long, before they were gone playing somewhere. Parker was the only one to stick it out until his cake was COMPLETELY gone! Hmmm...must have his mother's sweet tooth! ;)

Eating Habits:

I eat every 3 hours throughout the day & usually wake up once or twice at night to eat.

P.S. I HATE it when mom eats spicy food, lots of orange juice and lots of chocolate...I'm sure there will be more things that I don't like...but those are the things I haven't like so far in life...

Sleep Habits:

The 1st week home from the hospital, my mom was worried I was "too good to be true!" I NEVER woke her up to eat, letting her get the rest she so badly needed. Now, it wasn't like I was sleeping 12 hours straight. But I slept 7-9 hrs & my mom was REALLY HAPPY...well, except she was so worried that she would keep checking to make sure I was breathing throughout the night! :) But really...I just LIKED my sleep & decided to give my mom a break for the 1st week! Now that I'm 1 month old, I am more alert & not quite so sleepy all of the time & I like to eat at least once during the night. If I go down between 8-10pm, I will usually wake up twice a night. If I go down between 10-Midnight, I will wake up once at night to eat. Still very good, but I've decided to be more "normal" for my mom & make her get up ONCE in AWHILE :)

Play Habits:My big brother Parker can't WAIT to start playing with me & is already teaching me all about cars & balls & cartoons & all of the fun that goes along with being a BOY! My mom tries to give me a little tummy time each day & even though my head is HEAVY...I'm getting stronger & better at holding it up:) Mostly I just like to be cuddled or talked to when I'm awake...which still can't be for more than about 2 hours at a time or I get exhausted:) I think my mom is jealous! My parents seem to like it when I smile at them...they get all excited & start making funny sounds in my face, hoping I will do it again. It is a fun game I play with them.

I know I said it every month with Parker & I will say it again with Ryler...but the months really do fly by! Ryler is such a sweet little baby & we feel so lucky to have him in our family. Parker LOVES his little brother & ALWAYS wants to hold him & is a great helper...most of the time :) I can't wait to watch these 2 boys grow up together over the years!

We rang in the New Year @ Rob & Julie's house this year...

My dad was SO WONDERFUL and hung out with Ryler most of the night! Parker brought Grandpa some snacks every now & then...so he wouldn't go hungry:)

He is SUCH a cutie!
